Psalm 18:27-32

27For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

29For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

30As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

31For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

32It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

I read that last night in my devotions and it really encouraged me.  He wants to be my best friend, all I have to do is let Him.  It's been a long week, and it's not over yet.  I miss my Aimee and these past few nights I've found myself just sitting around with nothing to do.  What better way to spend my free time than talking with Him?  Anyways, American Idol's starting so I'll check back in with my 2 faithful readers sometime soon, don't worry lol.

All Gas. No Brake.

I'm updating...shocking, I know.  After a 2 month, 6 day hiatus from the xanga world, I've again felt the persistent itch to update and so I've conceded.

The last 2 months have been more or less no different than the way my life has been since high school.  I've been putting in long hours at McDonald's, rushing to classes at Washtenaw, alternating churches on Sunday mornings, and spending time with Aimee .  Since my last update, we were able to FINALLY buy a house.  We've at last settled down in Ypsilanti.  It's a small house but that's ok.  It's in Greene Farms and is about 3 1/2 minutes from Aimee's house so you know I'm happy .  I don't think I've ever used this many smiley faces in one entry before....anyways, moving on, since my last update I also switched cars again.  There's something about cars, I just get restless with them after about 2 months.  I'm already getting tired of my current one, a 1995 Honda Civic, but it will likely be my car for some time to come.  I have my eyes set on buying a Lexus down the road, but that's after I can save up about $1500 and sell my current car.  So schools going alright.  I'm only taking 3 classes right now.  I hate my psychology class with a growing passion.  Government can be interesting at times, but for the most part is a drag.  Spanish I actually like.  It lasts for 2 1/2 hours but the teachers style is pretty effective, and I have lots of fun practicing my spanish vocabulary with all the Mexicans at work.  So I'm debating whether or not to take Spring/Summer session classes.  Part of me wants to b/c it's that much quicker that I'll get out of WCC, but then another part of me just wants to have a free summer (well besides work).  I'll probably end up taking at least one class, but I'm not sure which one that will be yet.  Work has its ups and downs.  Most recently it has all been down.  I got informed yesterday in not so many words that none of the managers are getting raises.  That wouldn't bother me all that much if minimum wage weren't going up to $6.95 in October.  Heck, I'll go back to Meijer and push carts for $6.95/hr.  It beats what I'm doing right now.  I've applied for a couple different jobs.  One was at an X-Ray clinic.  A couple other ones were at banks.  One was at a tech center.  So far, nothing has come out of any of that.  It's pretty discouraging, but I'm confident God will pull me out of McDonald's when He has the right job for me.  I'm praying he doesn't want me at that place for the rest of my life!

So next week my baby is going to Texas on her senior trip.  I'm gonna be lonely and not to mention bored all week long.  I'm gonna miss her an awful lot!  I think during all the week nights next week that I'll just be sitting at home, I'm gonna work on this research paper I have to write for Psychology.  It can be about anything that has to do with Psychology and I think I'm gonna do mine on "the effects of prayer on brain wave patterns" because a couple of years ago, I remember watching this show on like the Discovery channel or somethin like that that talked about how it's been proven that when people pray, their brains are more active.  It should be interesting to see if there's truth behind that.

My life's been pretty hectic and busy the last few weeks.  I've been working 40 hours and trying to get projects and various things done for my classes.  Also our whole family just got over moving which is always a burden.  I feel a little burnt out right now.  I feel like God is calling out to me and trying to get me to steer back on course and draw closer to Him.  I want that, it just seems like everytime I try to accomplish it, I decide I don't have time or some other excuse.  I get so disappointed with myself sometimes (as I'm sure God does too).  More than anything, I want to get in the habit of praying on a consistent basis.  There's no doubt that having devotions is important, but my prayer life has been anything but productive these last few months.  I want to get back to talking to God and listening to Him talk back to me.

Anyways, I think I'm gonna get to bed.  I have to be to work at 8 de la manana and I'm already running on not enough sleep.  Hopefully I'll get that updating itch sometime again soon.  Talk to you all later.

Something to Be

Ok, I guess it's time for an update.  I thought the song lyrics would hold you people over for a little while and buy me another month or so of no updating but certain people are hard to please .  Anyways, so alot has been going on since last time I updated.  I know I must have said this a thousand times in the past, but this time I mean it more than ever...I'm so sick of work.  I'm really getting to my wit's end.  Saturday I had to work 12 1/2 hours because a bunch of people didn't show up for their shifts and then yesterday (Sunday), I was only supposed to work for the afternoon (1-5) and I ended up having to stay until after 8 and I missed church, all because people didn't show up once again.  I'm getting sick and tired of putting up with all the crap I have to put up with and getting paid less than some of the crew people.  I really want to find a new job but it seems like I never have the time to go out and look because the times that I'm not at school, I'm working, and I can't afford to take time off work because I have so many things to pay for.  Speaking of things to pay for, I got a speeding ticket last Friday.  I was going 51 on Washtenaw Ave. by my house and the speed limit is 35.  The cop only gave me a ticket for 5 over, but still thats $120 and $120 that I can't really spare right now.  Anyways, most of the check I just got this weekend is going towards that which leaves me with very little spending money.  This ticket also puts me in danger of having my license suspended, and even if my license is not suspended, come March when my family's insurance policy is renewed and I'm booted off because of my driving record, I most likely won't be able to afford my own insurance policy.  Needless to say, I've been checking into alternative modes of transportation and I've discovered that riding the bus, "The Ride" to work and school everyday would be about a quarter of the price of gas.  So in about 2 months, I may be riding the bus everywhere lol.  It seems kinda funny, but it may very well happen.  The thing that sucks the most is that I just traded my 93 Accord to my dad for a 95 Nissan Altima that he bought.  I like this car alot and I won't get to enjoy driving it for very long lol.  A girl at work, Tiffany, really wants it so I might end up selling it to her and just putting the money in the bank and saving it.  Classes started back up last Monday.  I'm taking Spanish, Government, and Psychology.  I decided to take it easy and only take 3 classes so I don't overwhelm myself.  Besides, I'm planning on taking A & P and possibly English Composition II in the summer.  Let's see...what else has happened since I last updated?  Well, I've finally done the impossible! Yep, I gave up regular pop for good.  Well, technically I've had 2 sips of Pepsi since the new year started but that was when I was sick and there was nothing else to drink and I had to take some Motrin...so I think I've done pretty good.  I've drank a little bit of Diet pop but I don't like that stuff much anyway so I've bascially been sticking to tea, lemonade, gatorade, and water.  It's been very hard, but I'm sure it will get easier as the year progresses.  I also resolved to lose 20 pounds in 2006.  I want to get back down to around 175 which is what I weighed before I started at McDonald's lol.  Yes, I'm a fatty now.  Alot has been going on with my sports teams lately.  The Packers fired Sherman and hired Mike McCarthy.  I was kinda happy they fired Sherman but I can't say I'm overly excited about hiring McCarthy.  I dunno, time will tell if he'll be a good coach and get us back to the super bowl.  The Bulls confuse me.  They went on an 8 game losing streak, followed by a 3 game winning streak, and now they've lost 2 more in a row.  I have a feeling Paxson is going to make some kind of big trade at the trade deadline.  Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but I just have a hunch.  Alright, well I really can't think of anything else significant that you guys care about hearing, so I think I'm gonna go.  I have to leave here pretty soon to drive up to Brighton for a dentist appointment.  You guys better leave me some comments so I feel like this thing is even worth my time! Talk to you all later...
